jeLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
last night matt [shoutout!] texted jacquie around 9pmish asking if we wanted to go float down the snake river. being a bunch of guys, they naturally gave us 10 minutes to get ready- but we are women, so it was no problem.
so, we get to their apartment and head down to rigby and drop a car off and all pile in the truck. we got the tubes all pumped up and ready to go, and we were on our way. jacquie, kristen, and amy got the cool tube that fits 3 people on it, not dryly, but it does. and we were off. it was fantastic.
we floated down a little bit, got out of the river and went to go hangout in rigby lake. the lake water was so warm! the river was pretty cold, but it wasn't too bad. we were at the lake for a while. then we got back into the river. while we were getting in, kristen totally ate it on the muddy slope. it was funny.
so we float and float. kristen almost got flipped off the tube for splashing steve in the face...whoops. all the while, we are trying to stay where the boys are telling us to go, but apparantly we suck at steering an intertube. so we run into a couple of bushes and trees. we may or may not have popped our tube. no big deal.
this is where it gets exciting, so we had to get out of the river right before a bridge. we had a hard time getting all the way over and we just kept floating. thus began the screaming and laughing and mikey yelling, "oh, CRAP!" when he realized we weren't stopping. so they saved us, jacquie and amy were having a hard time keeping solid footing and almost got swept down the river. jacquie also lost her sandals. sad day. kristen was just laughing the whole time- it was SO funny. we finally got back to the car and they left to go get the truck. so we're just hanging out waiting for them to get back. when they came back they were all still in one car because as it turns out the spare key to the truck wouldnt work so we had to all cram [all 9 of us]into matt's 5-seater car and drive back to rexy, which is like a 10 minute drive.
kristen's car keys were in the truck so we couldn't really go home without getting back into the truck...so we had to drive back with the boys so they could pry the door open- they did. talk about hanging out with a bunch of mcgyvers.
this is where it gets crazy. while we were driving back with matt the car in front of us slows down, puts on his emergency flashers, and pulls over. want to know why? there were like 5 horses just hanging out in the middle of the freeway. horses! a baby one too! one of them was blinded by our headlights and it came towards our car, we thought it was going to hit us so matt had to honk. only in idaho...
long story short- last night rocked.
one thing we're going to miss about idaho is the outdoorsie stuff there is to do here. we don't do this kind of stuff back home in good ol CA. we'll also miss our crazy utah'n friends.
