sunday dinner.

On Sunday's after church, we have our family dinner at noon. Then for 'real' dinner we just eat like cereal or something. Anyways, so this sunday, we had an epic meal.
yeah. strangest meal ever:
So on the left we have some "chicken sausages" from costco, (I did not partake of those). The middle we have some pasta roni, normal right? wrong. see below picture. and on the right we have some butternut squash, which totally looks gross but it was actually delightful :)
Andrea made the pasta roni. its definitely the shape of the pan. we cut it up in triangles and ate it like pie.
welcome to my family life.

Looks like a typical table setting, right????

racoons get hungry too

once upon a time, a fetching racoon was sitting outside my house eating my cats food.
yeah. thats right.
I opened the front door (porch light on) to check if my little brother had swept the front porch (it was his chore). The parents would get home late that night from their weekend trip to Utah. Anyways, so i opened the front door and A HUGE BANG came from the corner. well, bang is the wrong word. it sounded like a THUD. yes, a huge THUD. I look over and "holy sweet mother of fetching pearl" a racoon is just chillen eating food!! So i am screaming and slam the door and am like, scream/crying/laughing. And i yell for andrea to come look, and she does the same thing! then i yell at riley to come look! and then, we got the camera.
Here is the culprit:

We finally scared him away, with lots of screaming, hissing, yelling, and running directly at him. That little...

serve.

I have quite a few slices of humble pie recently. Conference was great and after the Sunday afternoon session of conference my family watched the 5000 days project. It was about two brothers growing up...i dont know how else to explain it but it was amazing. I laughed, cried, cried more, and was uplifted.
Here is the link: http://youtu.be/DiT1zZ6pEW4
These young men are great examples to me. It reminded me of all the great friends I have that are serving missions right now. Heres a picture of a few of my bakersfield boys:
David, Daniel, Blake, and Cole
They are all serving the Lord. I am so grateful for their sacrifices to give up two years of their lives to serve the Lord and bring people closer to Christ. I am honored to have such great friends who are amazing and great examples to me. I know that they are starting the best two years of their lives, and i am so grateful that they are all worthy, righteous, and willing to serve in our Heavenly Father's name. I know this gospel is true and I pray that these boys will be able to spread the joy that the gospel brings into each of our lives. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book and i am so grateful to have it in my life. If you want to learn more about it, ask me! Itll be great :) haha. Anyways, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I know my Redeemer lives and loves me. Gratitude is the best attitude. Always.
